Vinita Daily Journal is now on

NEWSPAPER HISTORY
The Vinita Daily Journal,
founded June 30, 1907, is a combination of the Vinita Indian Chieftain, the
Daily Indian Chieftain, the Vinita Leader, and the Craig County Democrat,
serving the area since 1882.
In 1907, the Vinita Daily
Journal began and still remains the county’s only daily newspaper.
This community-oriented
newspaper, with a readership of over 11,000, has dedicated its efforts to
serving the people of Vinita, Craig County, Grand Lake, and Northeast
Oklahoma.
Today, the Vinita Daily
Journal is under the general management of John and Janet Link, and is part
of the Reid Family Publications, which includes the Weatherford Daily News,
Vinita Daily Journal, Perry Daily Journal, Nowata Star, Tri-County Journal
and the Afton/Fairland American newspapers.
